“The Fletchers are a band from New Jersey that recently released their third album, Heroes Of Gravity. I personally feel this is what rock music is at its best and almost has a 1960’s rock and roll feel to it.
The first song off this timeless album, “Get It Yourself,” is a fun sounding rock song about keeping a clear conscience to keep you free from trouble and the devil. This song’s simple beat is probably what makes it so upbeat, fun and catchy.
The tone gets a little darker on “Farewell To Cupid.” The song, as one can imagine, is about a breakup and going your own separate way. The same sound is kept on this song almost identical to, “Get It Yourself,” however, slightly lower to enhance the sad, more serious feel without getting to depressing.
The fun, upbeat sound is brought back on, “Come On,” which is actually about calming down. Like the other songs on the album, it has that same simple sound with slight changes for this song. This makes all the songs on the album easier to enjoy and dance along with.
The Fletchers and their new album, Heroes Of Gravity, brings back a bit of what was great about rock and roll in the early days of the genre. It is simply people playing music and singing without any special effects, synthesizers, or overly deep feelings hidden in the tracks. Let’s hope there will be more of this easy to love music from this Jersey band.”
